Robot Vacuum Mopping Water Tank Capacity: Coverage per Fill
Volume I · May 2026 · 179 words
The onboard water tank in a robot vacuum mop determines how much floor area can be mopped before the tank requires refilling. Tanks range from 150-300 mL. At a typical dispensing rate of 5-10 mL per square meter, a 200 mL tank covers approximately 20-40 square meters (200-400 sq ft) — adequate for a kitchen and bathroom, insufficient for an entire ground floor. The Roborock Q Revo has an 80 mL onboard tank supplemented by the dock's 5L clean water reservoir, which refills the robot automatically — effectively unlimited coverage without manual intervention. Robots without dock-based refilling require the user to refill the tank manually between rooms if coverage exceeds tank capacity. For whole-floor mopping, dock-based water refilling is the feature that converts the robot from "mops one room" to "mops the entire floor."
