CPAP Battery Runtime Calculator

Estimate how many nights of CPAP therapy you can get from a portable power station or battery backup. Runtime depends on your pressure setting, whether the humidifier and heated tubing are used, and whether you power the machine via DC (more efficient) or AC inverter (less efficient). For a detailed analysis, see our CPAP backup guide.
DC power is strongly recommended for CPAP use. An AC inverter wastes 10–15% of your battery as heat; a DC converter cable (available for ~$30 from ResMed and Philips) bypasses the inverter entirely and extends runtime by 15–25%. The humidifier is the single largest power consumer — disabling it more than doubles runtime on most machines. Heated tubing adds approximately 15–20W on top of the base machine draw.
