The brew ratio — grams of coffee to milliliters of water — is the single most important variable in coffee extraction after grind size. This calculator follows the Specialty Coffee Association Golden Cup standard of 55 g/L (±10%) and provides target ratios for pour-over, French press, and espresso extraction.
